Project

VIT is located in Lounge 3 at Schiphol, beyond security, and caters to travellers who want something fresh and nourishing to eat or drink on the go, with fresh juices, smoothies, nourishing meals and grab & go products, among other things. The concept is deliberately designed differently from a traditional airport food outlet and has the look of a small greenhouse, with lots of greenery, light wood tones and fresh colour accents.

Approach

At a location like Schiphol, an interior must not only be visually strong but also work in an environment with high visitor flows, limited space and intensive daily use.

At VIT, the layout therefore centres on a compact, clear arrangement in which ordering, preparing, taking away and staying flow logically into one another. At the same time, the natural look supports the concept's positioning around fresh, healthy food.

Detail

One of VIT's most recognisable features is the green, greenhouse-like structure on the frontage. Combined with light wooden tables, rough counter materials and fresh green and yellow accents, it gives the concept a distinct identity of its own within Lounge 3.

Open preparation also plays an important role: many products are prepared fresh in full view of travellers, while a grab & go zone offers speed for passengers who are short on time.
